Cinema Massimo, April 10-17, 2025
The 40th edition of the Lovers Film Festival opened yesterday, Thursday, April 10: an opening night with a large institutional participation and a warm audience, a tangible sign of the territory’s affinity to a Festival that has been celebrating cinema, inclusion and equal rights for forty years. Many special guests and faces beloved by Lovers: Giovanni Minerba, founder of the Festival; Andrea Maresca (aka Spiff), author of this edition’s guiding image; Andrea Occhipinti, founder of Lucky Red; and a foray by Karma B. A central moment of the evening was the meeting between Karla Sofía Gascón, award-winning star and patroness of this edition, and Artistic Director Vladimir Luxuria, in an intense dialogue on the issue of trans visibility.
The event then moved to the Cinema Massimo, where the great Karma B warmed up the atmosphere with an out-of-the-box performance before the opening screening of Gaël Morel‘s film Vivre, mourir, renaître, introduced to the audience by the director himself.
An intense start to an edition to remember!
